To accommodate all of our patients, there are several different types of membership:
 
Types of Membership

Executive Personal Membership - $100 monthly / $1200 annually
This premier level of membership provides you with all of the services that we currently offer: a complimentary annual executive physical examination (see services), cell phone and email access to your physician, eligibility for home visits on a select basis, guaranteed same or next day appointments (may not apply to executive physical), regular electronic newsletters, and specialist and ancillary service appointments will be made by our office staff on your behalf.  Except for the complimentary Executive Physical, regular evaluations are still billed to your insurance company and co-pays remain your responsibility.

Executive Family Membership - $85/member/month $1020/member/annually
The same as our Executive Personal Membership, but at a reduced price for two or more family members.

Regular Personal Membership - $70 monthly / $840 annually
This level of membership allows you guaranteed same or next day appointments, email access to your physician and the office staff (emails answered within one business day), regular newsletters via email, and provides the same impeccable care you have previously received with a focus on preventative services per recommended guidelines.  Evaluations are still billed to your insurance company and we are legally obligated to continue to collect office co-pays.

Regular Family Membership - $65/member/month $780/member/annually
The same as our Regular Personal Membership, but at a reduced price for two or more family members.

Open Membership - $120 monthly /  $1440 annually
For patients that do not currently carry health insurance, carry only “high deductible” or catastrophic insurance, or choose not to use their insurance coverage for our services.  This level of membership allows you same or next day appointments, email access to your physician and the office staff (emails answered within one business day), regular newsletters via email, one complimentary evaluation monthly (additional visits are subject to our discounted cash rate), all while providing the same impeccable care you have previously received with a focus on preventative services per recommended guidelines.

Business Membership (>4 employees) - $60/employee/month

Based on market research of other “retainer” type practices, we believe our services are competitive and affordable. Payments will be accepted via Cash, check or Credit Card (Visa & Mastercard) and can be charged monthly, quarterly or annually per your preference.
 
Personal or Family Membership

A simple, low monthly retainer fee insures unparalleled physician access, same-day appointments and thorough, unrushed visits at Desert Medical Consultants. You will have an unlimited number of visits and will experience improved personalized and individualized care. Dr. Brimhall, or his new associate, is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet you and your family's health needs.

 
Business Memberships

Business owners, more than most, understand the tremendous burden that employee health care can present to the success of their company. Small businesses in particular, are being strangled by the costs of even limited healthcare plans which in reality provide little benefit for their employees.

At Desert Medical Consultants, many businesses will find the ability to provide superior care for their employees, and in many cases, actually save money at the same time. Desert Medical Consultants can recommend insurance specialists who focus on arranging health plans for small businesses. These insurance specialists will meet with you and explain the benefits of Health Savings Accounts and how a healthcare model such as Desert Medical Consultants’ can be beneficial. Business benefits include an annual executive examination for each employee, occupational injury or illness assessments, pre-employment evaluations, drug screening, and other occupational related examinations.

Medical Insurance

As many of our members will soon discover, modifying existing medical insurance plans while retaining the services of Desert Medical Consultants may save a significant amount of money while actually improving healthcare. The use of higher deductible, lower premium Health Savings Account (HSA) insurance plans allows for both significant financial savings for the member, as well as assists in supporting the monthly membership fee at Desert Medical Consultants.

  If you didn’t require any major medical expenses throughout the year, money spent on premiums is gone. Additional moneys paid toward your deductible are held in your Health Savings Account, this account funds any healthcare costs you may have throughout the year (including your membership fee). The HSA provides a tax shelter for your unused contributions, which can then be invested similar to an IRA. You keep your money.

* Many patients are choosing to join high deductible insurance plans, thus greatly decreasing their medical care costs. If they remain healthy, their money has been spent on good care, not on expensive insurance. If they become ill, they will have to pay a deductible, but they still have good catastrophic insurance. Even better, many employers are moving to Health Savings Accounts (HSA) for their employees. These HSA policies effectively turn the money over to you for safe keeping. You decide what services to purchase and you determine the best use of your healthcare dollar. Dr. Brimhall encourages patients to look for high deductible catastrophic insurance plans and health savings accounts, which allow them to put away money, tax-free, for medical expenses. The savings on annual premiums will likely be much more than the membership fee of $1,200. Neither Medicare nor private insurance will pay for or reimburse a patient’s membership (“retainer”) fee at Desert Medical Consultants or at any retainer-based medical practice. But in many cases your insurance premiums may be reduced by coupling a Health Savings Account with a higher deductible medical insurance plan. Ultimately, this may likely be less expensive than a standard low-deductible, higher premium plan which most insured currently have. The patient can now be more in-charge of their health care costs and the physician more in-charge of his patient’s medical care.
